The first of the next-generation consoles to hit the market, the XBOX 360 enters the fray with High-Definition visuals, a focus on online interaction, and use as a multimedia center. Like the Playstation 3, no major control innovations have been made, except for standardized wireless connectivity out of the box. The wireless controller does little to add any new interaction with the game, though it does offer convenience and the ability to play games from less restricted locations. Taking lessons from its predecessor, the controller relocates the former uncomfortable black and white buttons and turns them into shoulder buttons. This is the first controller to feature independent shoulder triggers and buttons. The most unique function of the controller is its center "X" which can serve many functions, but is mostly used for interacting with the 360's online Live service while in game.
